…This is a superb port by Panic Button that the minor niggles should not put you off, because Torchlight II‘s addictive dungeon crawling action is a wonderful fit for the Nintendo Switch, even if you already own Diablo III: Eternal Collection. Whether you play alone or with friends, Torchlight II on the Switch is absolutely fun, and its low asking price makes it hard to resist even if you’re knee-deep in similar titles. Torchlight II is a superb addition to your gaming catalogue and an absolute blast alone or with friends. Torchlight 2 also has the better end game imo with its 5 tier NG+difficulty (eventually all monsters become lvl 100+ which forces the player to make clever builds) 1 line break (s), 160. Its gameplay is compulsive and honestly a little bit vapid: the incessant grind and push forward is neither intellectually stimulating nor conducive to big, memorable moments. While diablo 2 is great, it still feels dated compared to Torchlight 2. The Switch version feels right at home on the handheld, and the compulsion to rid the map of fog or find complete that rare gear set is as powerful as in any game of its type. Torchlight II is a cleverly designed game which is decidedly good at what it does even if it is following a fundamentally flawed design philosophy.
